We understand that one of the most important components of academic sucess is access to personalized mentoring and instruction. Each student needs the right tutor for their specific targets, struggles, personality and condition.
Our tutors aren't just qualified for their skills, but also for their passion and love for teaching. We look for tutors who can build relationships with students and help them feel comfortable and cared for during sessions. Plus, they are consistent and reliable. You can trust our tutors to show up on schedule and work to their standards.
As a summa cum laude graduate of UC Berkeley in Applied Mathematics and Statistics, I have over five years
of experiences as an educational entrepreneur. I love to teach, coach, and tutor, and my specialties are all levels of math and homework help.
I have been helping over more than 100 students from all different ages in both Northern and Southern California succeed in their classes and on the SAT/ACT.
Additionally, I also help with admission essays and have watched students be accepted to their dream schools across the country.
My goal is to empower as many students as possible with knowledge and confidence.
I started Apollo Tutoring because I am passionate about learning and education. I want to help parents in easing the homework headache and to show my students that learning can be fun. I want each of my students I work with to learn how to study and to develop a love for learning. My approach is to understand how students comprehend, and what they struggle with, and then present that information in a manner that they can engage with. I always encourage my students to think critically and equip them with the tools and skills necessary to tackle all kinds of problems.
It is my personal belief that it is possible to learn and master any subject, no matter how hard it may seem at first.
I love all STEM subjects and that is why I choose to study chemical engineering at UC Santa Barbara. Early on in college I became
a math & chemistry tutor and discovered how much I enjoy helping others succeed and develop a passion for the subjects they study.
I now study computer science and love programming, I am always looking for new ways to challenge myself and grow. I am very happy
to be a part of the Apollo team. It is a pleasure to help students develop the passion and academic excellence necessary to get into their dream schools.
My name is James. I am an easygoing, carefree person and I try to live my life that way. I am currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in psychology from UCSC.
I really enjoy teaching and watching people grasp concepts that they would normally think are difficult. My teaching style is unique to each individual and how they
think so that I may cater to whatever their individual preferences are. Tutoring offers specific advantages over regular teaching in that the student may work as fast/slow
as he/she wants to and cover any topic of their choosing.
My method relies on simple explanation with little memorization required. Understanding the concepts and establishing good habits are more self-reinforcing methods of
studying material, that are in my opinion, suitable for all ages and skill levels.
I believe that every student has unique, limitless potential. For the last 25+ years on more than half a dozen different college campuses,
my personal and professional goals have been to help unlock that potential. For 15 years as Chair of Library & Learning Resources, I was fortunate
enough to be in a position to plan, shape, and transact learning environments and tutoring programs that directly enriched student learning and
enhanced learning outcomes. I’m glad to be a part of Apollo and help drive students’ success.
I have always love math and science. That is the reason I chose Biochemistry and minor in Math as my undergraduate degree.
I started tutoring while in college to fellow students and I fell in love with teaching ever since. Aside from helping schoolmates succeed in their classes,
I love helping them understand science and math better and become more curious and excited about learning scientific concepts.
Right now aside from working as a medical research associate in translational oncology, I continue teaching at
Apollo to help students succeed and reach their goals, especially seeing them develop a kindred passion for science.
